AIPG-TX at Annual Hydro-Geo Workshop in 2025

The Texas Chapter of AIPG participated in the 10th Annual Hydro-Geo Workshop held in Boerne, Texas, October 17-19. The workshop is held on the grounds of the Cave Without A Name, a park and campground located about 12 miles northeast of Boerne, and hosts about 250 students each year, offering nearly 40 wide-ranging topics of interest to aspiring geoscientists. New District I Representative Appointed to the AIPG Texas Board of Directors

Henry Wise, P.G., C.P.G. announced today that he has appointed James Ridgway, P.G., C.P.G. as the new District I Representative covering West Texas, and to the AIPG Texas Section Board of Directors. Ridgway brings a diverse industrial geoscience background to his new position. He maintains a home in Tom Green County and will be making his presence known in District I from San Angelo to Amarillo to El Paso, and to Midland and Odessa from time to time. The Texas GeoDayz 2025 Training Program Has Been Postponed to 2026

“Henry Wise, P.G., C.P.G., President of the AIPG Texas Chapter, announced today that the training program, GeoDayz 2025, scheduled for April 25 and 26 has been postponed to 2026 as a result of insufficient registration. Although the student fee for the event had been reduced to $50.00, this fee reportedly created resistance to students registering in any event. This indicates to AIPG Texas Board Members that current Texas university students have little value for such training. The New President of the Texas-Statewide Virtual Student Chapter

The Ecological Screening Benchmark Tables have been updated and posted to the TCEQ’s Ecological Risk Assessments webpage. The Ecological Screening Benchmarks are numeric values for surface water, sediment, and soil that can be used to screen non-bioaccumulative chemicals of concern from further evaluation under Tier 2 Screening-Level Ecological Risk Assessments. Additionally, the West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) Ecological Protective Concentration Levels Calculator (“PCL Database”) has been re-released using updated programming language.
