The Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) adopts amendments to §3.15, relating to Surface Equipment Removal Requirements and Inactive Wells, with one change to the proposed text as published in the August 26, 2016, issue of the Texas Register (41 TexReg 6311). The RRC adopts the amendments to more accurately track when inactive wells have been returned to production, thereby reducing the administrative burden for the operators of those wells and associated costs to industry. The Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) adopts amendments to 22 TAC §§851.29, 851.31, and 851.32, and adopts new rules §§851.35, 851.113, 851.203 and 851.204, concerning the licensure and regulation of Professional Geoscientists. The new rules and amendments in 22 TAC §§851.29, 851.31, 851.32, 851.35, 851.203 and 851.204 are adopted without changes from the proposed text as published in the September 16, 2016, issue of the Texas Register (41 TexReg 7246). Post-AIPG Texas Section Field Trip Guidebook Now Available & the EMD Uranium Committee Has Released it’s Uranium FAQ

Henry M. Wise, P.G., CPG, President, Texas Section of the AIPG, announced today that the Guidebook accompanying the 2016 Field Trip to Central Texas has been revised to include field-trip photos and expanded coverage of topics. It is available in PDF. A future field trip by bus is being planned for Spring, 2017 to visit uranium mines in South Texas.  More information when available. Also just released, Michael D. The Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) proposes amendments to 22 TAC §§851.29, 851.31, and 851.32, and proposes new rules §§851.35, 851.113, 851.203 and 851.204, concerning the licensure and regulation of Professional Geoscientists. These amendments clarify the requirements regarding Endorsement and Reciprocal Licensure. Proposed amendments amend language to show that a licensing qualification can be endorsed by another licensing board for an applicant for P.G. licensure who is currently or has been licensed in the last ten years to practice a discipline of geoscience in Texas or another U.S. jurisdiction. This year the 53rd meeting of the American Institute of Professional Geologists National Conference is being held in the beautiful and historic city of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
