President Henry Wise, P.G., C.P.G. anoounced that University of Houston-Clear Lake Geology Department, sponsored by Professor Dongmin Sun, has been granted Student Chapter Status in the AIPG Texas Section. This highlights the value of studying geology as a major field for those students who wish to continue their studies in the University of Houston system at other campuses, such as at the Main U of H Campus: Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences or Houston Downtown campus: (here) and (here).
The AIPG-TX section focuses on student training and student finantial support to continue to meet the future demands for professional geologists and associated subfields in geophysics, geotechnical, environmental and natural-resource development on Earth and off-world (astrogeology, etc).
