The Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) proposes amendments concerning the licensure and regulation of Professional Geoscientists in Texas. TBPG proposes amendments to 22 TAC §850.62, regarding General Powers and Duties of the TBPG, 22 TAC §851.10(21), regarding Definitions, 22 TAC §851.21, regarding Licensing Requirements – Examinations, 22 TAC §851.24, regarding TBPG Recognition Programs, 22 TAC §851.25(a), regarding Education Requirements and Equivalents, 22 TAC §851.152(a), regarding Firm Compliance. The TBPG has an ongoing process to review rules to simplify confusing language and correct rules that prevent efficiency. The proposed amendment(s) clarify language regarding the public practice of Geoscience in Texas. The proposed rules, if adopted, will make the rules easier to understand and help prevent confusion, and add additional subdivisions to the list of geoscience classifications.
