Continuing Education (CE) Required Annually to Maintain Texas PG Licenses

Effective September 1, 2006, 15 hours of continuing education are required for renewal of a P.G. license, with one of those hours in the area of Professional Ethics. For additional information see website of the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists.

As we emerge from the last wave of COVID variants, the AIPG Texas Chapter has begun to resume training programs and field trips:

1. GEODAYZ 2022 Austin Area – Early August, 2022, See announcement (here).

CE requirements or not, we all need to improve or maintain of professional skills and awareness of the impact of geological processes and environmental impact on Earth and off-world. To stay on top of developments or occurrences, one way is to monitor the “What’s New” section of the I2M Web Portal. It contains more than 11,900 reports on a variety of subjects of interest to I2M (see About the Web Portal). Speaking of off-world, the top professions needed in all off-world activities in the future will be geologists and engineers. The younger generations of geologists should begin now to prepare to respond to this coming market for your skills. Search “space” or space jobs in the Web Portal (e.g. (here)).

Other ways to improve or maintain your skills now are listed below:
