Field Alerts

I2M Consulting, LLC has initiated a new “Field Alerts” program in the I2M Web Portal to notify geoscientists and others concerning potential geologic hazards and health threats when working in the field or when working in or reporting on potentially hazardous conditions. As reports come in to the I2M Web Portal from the general readership, we will consider them for listing as “A Field Alert” for access via a link in the I2M Web Portal (more). Be sure to click on the blue “Date” tab to get the most recent items.

Your input will be appreciated and will be evaluated as a Field Alert as soon as possible. If suitable, the information will be included in the I2M Web Portal Alert system and made available to AIPG members (here).

Please be aware that we at I2M Consulting, LLC neither guarantee nor imply that all possible or potential hazards will be reported herein.

Aurora Forecasts

The solar wind data (velocity and proton density) presented on spaceweather.com are updated every 10 minutes. They are derived from real-time information transmitted to Earth from the ACE spacecraft and reported by the NOAA Space Environment Center. The location of ACE at the L1 and L2 libration points (LaGrange Points – L1 and L2) between the earth and the sun enables the spacecraft to give about a one hour advance warning of impending geomagnetic activity.
