About the Webinar

The gap between what you learned in school and what your first job actually requires is not an accident—it is part of the job.

This webinar addresses three important subjects that rarely appear in an employee onboarding packet:

Why you are part of the mechanism through which your company is held publicly accountable
How professional judgment can be developed deliberately
How artificial intelligence can either strengthen or undermine that development

Whether you are entering the geoscience profession or preparing for the next stage of your career, this session will offer practical insights into professional responsibility, sound judgment and the growing role of AI in the workplace.

About the Presenter

Terry Braun is President of SRK North America, Director of The Tailings Center, and an Adjunct Lecturer in the Business and Economics Department at the Colorado School of Mines.

With more than 30 years of professional experience in mining and environmental projects, his career began in environmental remediation and evolved into technical advisory work for mining and industrial clients. He helps clients develop new mines and responsibly close old ones.

Braun also directs The Tailings Center, an academic-industry consortium involving universities and mining-industry partners.
